India's first AC double-decker coach rolls out

In Punjab, Rail Coach Factory, RCF, Kapurthala has rolled out the country’s first air conditioned double decker coach for trials on Delhi-Mathura section. The new coach with green-yellow colour scheme has all the features and comforts of a Shatabadi coach. RCF General Manager Pradeep Kumar said that the factory would start the manufacturing of the double decker coaches after successful completion of trials. <br/><br/>These futuristic high speeds, stainless steel AC coaches would be introduced to cater to the heavy rush of commuters in high density corridors, offering AC travel at a low cost. Mr. Kumar stated that first double decker train might be seen running on rail tracks by the end of this year.
