Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, laid the foundation stone for construction of Adarsh Multiple Campus building at Dhading district on Friday. <br/><br/>The campus building is being constructed with the financial assistance of 41.2 million Nepalese rupees extended by the Government of India under its small development project scheme in Nepal. <br/><br/>The Campus, affiliated to Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, was established in 2006 and more than 200 students are enrolled in different courses such as Business Studies and Education. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, the construction of the new campus building would benefit the students of 18 Village Development Committees (VDCs) especially girls belonging to the underprivileged groups like Chepang, Tamang, and other Janjati and Dalit communities who are enrolled in the campus. <br/><br/>The new infrastructure would provide much needed classroom space and would create an improved environment for learning and contribute to the development of the education facilities in Dhading district. <br/><br/>Apart from campus, the Government of India has provided financial assistance of 38.3 million Nepalese rupees for two more projects in Dhading district, one has been completed and another is ongoing. <br/><br/>Government of India has also gifted 8 ambulances and 1 bus for providing essential services to the people of the district. <br/><br/>The Government of India has been supporting Nepal in its journey of development since 1950s. The India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme has outlay of over 76 billion Nepalese rupees with more than 552 large and small development projects completed or being implemented all over Nepal in cooperation with the Government of Nepal. <br/><br/>These development projects mainly focus in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development, sectors responding to local needs as well as those helping the Government of Nepal to achieve an all inclusive socio-economic development.
