India’s emergence as major global power is good for US and the world: Obama

Us president says India has already risen on the global stage and Washington sees New Delhi's emergence good for India the US .Obama said that India has already a rightful place in Asia and at the global stage. In his remarks while talking to students of St Xavier's college this morning, President Obama asserted that Indo-US relations will be indispensable in shaping the 21st century and the Partnership has a limitless potential. Referring to his proposed talks with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, he said, he shall be discussing how the two countries can advance the cooperation in 21st century not only for India and the US but for the world. He added that he will make specific announcements on issues like counter-terrorism, regional security and clean energy after the talks. Obama while paying tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatama Gandhi said that America draws strength from India's freedom struggle. The President added that dealing the threat of terrorism is a great challenge and reiterated that that his decision to stay at Hotel Taj in Mumbai was to pay tributes to martyrs and the resilience of the people.
