India's core values of diversity, tolerance, plurality cannot be allowed to be wasted: President

President Pranab Mukherjee has said that the core values of diversity, tolerance and plurality of Indian civilization must be kept in mind and cannot be allowed to be wasted. Speaking at a book release function in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mr Mukherjee said, Indian civilization has survived because of its core civilizational values and everybody must keep that in mind.<br/><br/>He said, these values have kept people together over the centuries and if it is kept in mind, nothing can prevent Indian democracy to move.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, the President's remarks assumes significance on the backdrop of lynching of a person for allegedly consuming beef in Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.
