Government today said that India's production of Chrome ore is sufficient to meet domestic consumption and exports. Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Mines Dinsha Patel said that the export of chrome ore is not directly impacting the steel industry.The Minister said that there is no proposal to completely ban the export of chrome ore. India has 203 million tons of chrome ore. Out of this only 54 million tons are reserved.
