India's campaign in Madrid Open Tennis tournament comes to an end;Andy Murray exits

The Indian duo of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna has bowed out of the Madrid Open Tennis tournament in Spain. In the quarterfinals on Friday, the sixth seeded Indian pair lost to the French-Polish combination of Jeremy Chardy and Lukasz Kubot, 2-6, 4-6. With this, India's campaign in the tournament has come to an end. Earlier, the Indo-Austrian pair of Leander Paes and Jurgen Melzer in the Men's Doubles and the Indo-American team of Sania Mirza and Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the Women's Doubles had made an early exit from the tournament.In the Men's Singles, after Serbia's World Number One Novak Djokovic and Swiss Roger Federer, it was Briton Andy Murray, who made a shock exit from the competition. World Number three Murray was stunned by Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, 6-7, 4-6. Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga also crashed out after losing to lower seed Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, 2-6, 7-6, 4-6. Spaniard Rafael Nadal, however, made it to the semi-finals. The other semi-finalist is Pablo Andujar of Spain. In the Women's Singles, American Serena Williams and Russia's Maria Sharapova advanced into the semi-finals. The other semi-finalists are Italy's Sara Errani and Ana Ivanovic of Serbia.
