India's campaign in FIFA Under-17 World Cup ends, lose 0-4 to Ghana

India ended their maiden FIFA Under-17 World Cup campaign with a 4-0 defeat against Ghana in their final group match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi last night. India had lost its earlier two group matches to USA 0-3 and Colombia by 1-2. Ghana now tops the group. In the other Group A game in Mumbai, Colombia beat US 3-1. Ghana and Colombia entered the last 16. African champions Mali also entered the knock-out stage with a dominating 3-1 win over New Zealand in a final group B game in New Delhi. Mali finished second in Group B, while Paraguay tops the group with an all-win record. They beat Turkey 3-1 in Mumbai in the other Group B match. Iran from Group C, Brazil from Group D, France from Group E and England from Group F have also made it to the knockout stage. In today's matches, in Group C, Costa Rica will meet Iran in Goa at 5 p.m. while Guinea will take on Germany at Kochi at 5 p.m. In Group D encounters, Niger will face Brazil in Goa at 8 p.m., while Spain will play against North Korea at Kochi at 8 p.m.
