In Badminton, India's campaign ended at the Sudirman Cup Badminton tournament at Qingdao in China. India, who advanced to the knock-out stage of this prestigious tournament after 22 years, suffered a 1-3 thrashing at the hands of rampaging China on Thursday.Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas lost to their higher-ranked Chinese opponent in the first rubber of the quarter-finals, giving China an early lead. Top Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal then helped India to bounce back. She defeated the world number three Xin Wang in straight games 21-15, 21-11. Locked 1-1, Commonwealth Games Bronze medalist P Kashyap took the court against world number three Lin Dan but failed to match the class of the Beijing Olympics Gold medalist. Kashyap lost 14-21, 14-21. Commonwealth Games Gold medalists Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa were also lost as the World Number one pair of Xiaoli Wang and Yang Yu defeated them with ease.
