India and United Arab Emirates have strong ties and there is a vast potential to further expand trade and economic co-operation between the two countries. Besides meeting India's energy needs the investments, foreign remittances and the large diaspora add to the dimensions of the relations between the two nations. India's New Ambassador to UAE, Mr.T.P.Seetharam has underlined the need to bolster these ties and explore new areas of co-operation between the two countries. Addressing a function at India Club in Dubai, the new Indian envoy to UAE urged the expatriate Indian community to work for enhancement of ties by engaging with the the local people. He said the need of the hour is to reach out to the young generation of Emiratis who can share the similar concerns of the two nations. Lauding the role of NRIs in Dubai and UAE, he urged them not to forget their roots and suggest ways and means to help the needy people in UAE and also back home in India.
