India’s Ambassador to Nepal inaugurates three projects

The Ambassador of India to Nepal, Mr. Rakesh Sood inaugurated three projects which have been constructed in Western Nepal, with Government of India’s assistance of 4.67 crore rupees under India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme on Tuesday. The projects include the up gradation of eleven Municipality roads in Mahendranagar, the district headquarters an important town of trade and tourism. The roads of the Municipality having cumulative length of 4.98 km had been damaged and now have been upgraded with Government of India grant assistance of 2.98 crores rupees .This has benefited about 80,000 residents of the district and has also improved the civic services in the area. The Ambassador also inaugurated a school building for Janaki School in Mahendrangar which is the only girls’ secondary school in the Kanchanpur district in Far Western Region part of the country. In order to upgrade the physical infrastructure of the school, Government of India has provided assistance of 1.13 crore rupees for construction of double storied school building and provision of furniture. This will provide much needed classroom space to over 350 girls’ students and also help the school to accommodate the ever increasing number of students. Mr.Sood also inaugurated a school building for Shree Kalika Lower Secondary School, Pipaladi. Constructed with a grant assistance of 56 lakh rupees, this will help provide much needed classrooms for over six hundred students.In his address, the Ambassador expressed the hope that various developments projects being implemented under the India -Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme would help the people of Nepal in their stride towards peace and prosperity. India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme has an outlay over 5800 crore rupees.
