Indians are genetically prone to diabetes and changing life style is leading to rapid rise of diabetes in the country, says National Insulin Summit Convenor Dr. Ashok Kumar Das. The two-day National Insulin Summit, organised by Diabetes Research Society (DIABAID) began in Puducherry yesterday. In India, almost 50% of people with diabetes go undetected. Hence by the time the ailment is diagnosed many patients might have developed micro-vascular and macro-vascular complications, he said. Early detection is key to proper management of diabetes.<br/>'<br/>300 experts in the field of diabetes from across India are participating in the 9th National Insulin Summit deliberating on various aspects of diabetes and insulin management. The focus of the Summit this year is to share path breaking recent innovations to combat diabetes.<br/>
