Indians' appetite for poultry is increasing fast, in tandem with their growing income on the back of robust economic expansion which is about 8 percent. The Poultry Federation of India (PFI) said that Per capita consumption of chicken is set to rise to 3 kg per person annually from 2.4 kg at present.PFI's spokesman Ricky Thaper said that despite the rise in consumption of poultry meat, India's per person consumption of chicken is meagre when compared to the US, Brazil, UAE and Australia, where it varies from 35kg to 40 kg per person a year.
