Indian Women top standings & progress to Round III in Hockey World League

India Women's team defeated Russia 1-0, in their final round-robin match to top the standings and progress to the third round of Hockey World League at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi today. In the earlier match, Rani Rampal scored the all-important winner for India in the 51st minute. She also became the highest goal scorer in the League's Round 2. Apart from India, Japan also qualified for the third round of the Hero Hockey World League, a qualifying tournament for next year's FIH World Cup in Hague, The Netherlands. Both India and Japan had equal points but India finished at top due to more outright victories. In the men's section, the match between India and Bangladesh is going on.
