Indian women team inches closer to securing medal in invitational lawn bowls tournament

India's women triples team has inched closer to securing a medal in the eight-nation invitational lawn bowls tournament. In the round seven match against Scotland in New Delhi today, they defeated them 13-7, 6-6 to enter the semifinals. The tournament is a Commonwealth Games test event.The Indians will now play the winner of the match between England and New Zealand in the semifinal tomorrow at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.Australia also made it to the semifinal where they face the winner of the match between Scotland and Malaysia.India's women pairs team, however, lost to South Africa 7-10, 5-10 but they still have a chance to make it to the last-four if they win their semifinal play-off against Malaysia.Meanwhile, Indian men triples team quelled a late challenge from Malaysia before registering a 13-1, 11-10 win in their round seven match.Indian men pairs team, however, suffered a 4-13, 9-10 defeat at the hands of Northern Island.
