Indian shuttlers lose mixed doubles & women's singles match at Swiss Open Badmintion

Indian shuttlers lost their mixed doubles and women's singles matches at the Swiss Open Badmintion tournament in Basel today. The combo of Tarun Kona and Ashwini Ponnappa lost in mixed doubles event to Polish pair of Rober Mateusiak and Agnieszka Wojtkowska 10-21, 21-16, 13-21. Saili Rane was defeated in women's singles match by third seeded Chinese Shixian Wang 8-21, 9-21.India's Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu will play their first round matches in the Women's Singles at the Swiss Open later this evening. Sixth seed Saina will take on Chisato Hoshi of Japan and Sindhu will clash with Sannatasah Saniru of Malaysia. In women's doubles, Indian pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will take on Isabel Herttrich and Carla Nelte.In men's singles, Parupalli Kashyap and Anand Pawar will play their second round matches today. While third seeded Kashyap will take on Lukas Schmidt, Anand Pawar will clash with Tobias Wodenka.
