Noted Indian scholar and plant physiologist H Deep Saini has been appointed as the next Vice Chancellor of the prestigious Canberra University in Australia. 60-years old Saini is currently the Vice-President of Toronto University in Canada. <br/><br/>He completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at the Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana, and doctorate in plant physiology from the University of Adelaide.<br/><br/>Dr. Saini has received a number of honours including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
