Indian Railway nab 48 gangs

In its effort to curb crime against passengers, Indian Railway has nabbed 48 gangs including 901 criminals for committing crimes against passengers during the 3 months special drive which was launched in various zones .

According to an official release, the drive had been launched by the railways from 1st of June to 31st August this year. In coordination with the Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police, it has also apprehended over 4500 people for for unauthorised alarm chain pulling. The release also said, besides it over 2 lakh people have also been prosecuted under various sections of the Railways Act for other petty offences during this period.
