Indian pugilists captured six Gold in the finals of the fifth Commonwealth Boxing Championships at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. Paramjit Samota claimed the first Gold defeating Joseph Parker of New Zealand in the Super Heavyweight category. The second Gold was won by Amandeep. He beats Peter Mungai of Kenya in the 49 KG category. Suranjay Singh was declared winner in the 52 KG category when Oliver Navigi left the ring after the first round. In the 60 KG category, Jai Bhagwan defeated Wellison Nolse of Bahamas while in the 80 KG category, Dinesh Kumar was declared winner as Kolam Johnson of Scotland did not come to the ring due to some personal reason. World number one Vijender Singh won the sixth Gold in the 75 KG category beating Frank Tuglion of England.
