India's dismal performance in the Test series against Australia has resulted in a drop in ICC rankings for many big Indian names in the world of cricket. In the latest ICC rankings issued in Dubai yesterday, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar slipped out of the top-10 batsmen list to 13th, Rahul Dravid went down three spots to 18th, VVS Laxman was down a couple of positions at 23rd, while Virender Sehwag was 24th. Gautam Gambhir also dropped two places to 34th. However, Virat Kohli, the only Indian to score a hundred in the series, gained 17 places to be 50th in the latest list. Among the bowlers, pace spearhead Zaheer Khan slipped one spot to 10th. Zaheer is the only Indian in not just top-10 but also the top-20 in the bowling chart. On the other hand, Australian players made long strides in the ICC rankings after beating India 4-0 in the recently concluded Test series. Pacers Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris and off-spinner Nathan Lyon moved up the charts. Siddle gained two places and is now in fourth position with a career-best rating. Harris was lifted four places to the 22nd spot, while Lyon is now on the 43rd position.
