Indian parliamentarians meet UN General Assembly President

A delegation of Indian Parliamentarians has met UN General Assembly President Miroslav Lajcak and discussed a number of issues, including reform of the world body. <br/><br/>The delegation of the Indian parliamentarians included Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury, senior journalist and MP Swapan Dasgupta and BJP Lok Sabha member Santosh Ahlawat. <br/><br/>Brenden Varma, spokesperson of the UN General Assembly President Miroslav Lajcak informed that they discussed issues related to migration, peace, sustainable development, and United Nations reform. <br/><br/>Lajcak, during the meeting in United Nations, emphasised the role of parliamentarians as important channels of communication to the people. <br/><br/>He also invited the three parliamentarians to participate in the Parliamentary Hearing on the 'global compact for safe, orderly and regularly migration', to be held in February next year.
