Indian Panorama Film festival begins in Andaman

In Andaman and Nicobar islands, a three day long Indian Panorama Film festival begins today. The islands Lt Governor, Lt Gen Bhopindher Singh will inaugurate the festival at Port Blair this evening. Our Correspondent reports that this mega film festival is being organized for the first time in the islands by the Directorate of Film festival in coordination with the islands administration.The islanders get the rare opportunity of witnessing award winning films along with their favourite stars and eminent film personalities in the first ever film festival being organized at Port Blair. The eminent film maker Maniratnam's latest Tamil film Ravanan will be screened as an inaugural film this evening.During the festival, award winning feature films in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and other regional languages will be screened. The most popular Punajabi feature film, ISHK DA WARIS, Hindi films 3 idiots, Paa and Bangla film MONER MANUSH are the major attraction of this festival. Gandhi the Mahatma, a film by the local film maker Naresh Chandra Lal has also been short listed for the festival.The Director of Film Festival, Bhoopendra Kainthola told AIR news that an exclusive screening will be arranged at the most popular Radha Nagar beach at Havelock Island during the festival.
