In the Men's singles of Indian Open Super Series Badminton tournament being played at New Delhi, Sourav Verma, P.Kashyap and R.M.V.Guru Sai Dutt have entered the second round. Kashyap beat sixth seed Zhengming Wang 21-12, 17-21, 21-12. Sourav Verma too reached the second round after beating Russia's Vladimir Ivanov 21-16 17-21 21-14. Another Indian, R M V Guru Sai Dutt also made his way to the next round with a 17-21 21-16 21-17 win over Chinese Taipei's Tien Chen Chou in another men's singles match.. However, H.S.Pranoy, Sai Praneet, Anup Sridhar, K.Srikanth and Anand Pawar lost their first round matches. In the Women's doubles, the pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa have entered the second round. However, P.V. Sindhu has crashed out of the women's singles first round. She lost to Xijian Weng of China 15-21, 21-12, 10-21. Syali Gokhale and Tripti Murgunde have entered the second round. Syali beat Tanvi Laad 21-17, 21-10 and Tripti beat Mudra Dhanji 24-22, 12-21, 21-18.
