Indian Ocean a key area of India's foreign policy: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the Indian Ocean Region is one of the key areas of country's foreign policy and all nations should join hands to ensure maritime stability. As the chief guest at the Operational Demonstration and International City Parade at the ongoing International Fleet Review in Visakhapatnam yesterday, the Prime Minister said, India will host the first Global Maritime Summit in April 2016. He reminded that India has always been a maritime nation, and stressed the need to use oceans to build peace and friendship.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister released a book on 'Maritime Heritage of India ' on the occasion. Mr Modi also launched the e-version of the book. The International Fleet Review is coming to a close today.<br/>A Joint Band Concert comprising musicians from home and visiting ships will be organized today evening in Visakhapatnam at the Naval Institute which will be a combination of talent, friendship and goodwill. The Joint International Band Concert will commemorate the closing ceremony of the Fleet Review 2016.<br/>Music is the language that transcends all boundaries, and an evening of delightful music from across the oceans will hold true to the theme of IFR-16, 'United through Oceans'.
