Indian Navy on alert in view of cyclone Kyant

Indian Navy is on alert in view of severe cyclone Kyant poised to strike East coast. <br/><br/>Navy spokesperson said the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters is ready for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. Ships ready with divers, doctors, inflatable rubber boats, helicopters and relief material.<br/><br/>MeT Department has said the cyclone is away from 450 kilometer southeast of Gopalpur in Odisha, over 520 kilometer from Vishakhapatnam and 730 km from Machilipatnam. It is most likely to move west-southwestwards towards west central Bay of Bengal during next 72 hours.<br/><br/>Andhra Pradesh government has sounded alert in all the coastal districts along the Bay of Bengal as the system is very likely to intensify slightly further during next 24 hours. The Cyclone Warning Centre at Visakhapatnam said that the sea will be rough from tomorrow and strong winds will blow along and off the coast.<br/> <br/>The Odisha government has put the collectors of 14 districts on high alert with directions to take safety measures, although negligible impact is predicted there.<br/><br/>
