Navy Day was celebrated on Friday at Mumbai's Gateway of India where thousands of people gathered to watch the Beating Retreat and the Tattoo ceremony. Maharashtra Governor, Mr. S C Jamir was the Chief Guest at the ceremony organized by the Western Naval Command. <br/><br/>A spectacular air show by Indian Navy's Light multi-role helicopter Chetak along with a flurry of fireworks lit the Mumbai skyline. During the Beating Retreat, the Navy played out eight beautiful tunes consisting of Bhartiya Nausena, Heartbeats, Sunset and Abide by me- a collection of Mahatma Gandhi's favourite hymns. <br/><br/>The Tattoo ceremony, on the other hand played usually with drums consisted of contemporary renditions. The Indian Navy's No.330 Harpoons Squadron's continuity drill was also showcased on the occasion. <br/>
