Indian national Uzma, forced to marry in Pak, returns home

Indian national Uzma has safely returned to India from Pakistan today. Uzma has alleged that she was forced to marry a Pak national on gunpoint. She thanked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad, J P Singh for her safe return. <br/><br/>Talking to media in New Delhi, Uzma said when she reached Wagah border, took a sigh of relief on returning to her country. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj thanked Uzma for believing in the Indian High Commission. <br/><br/>Mrs Swaraj also thanked the Interior and Foreign Ministries of Pakistan for extending all possible assistance in securing return of Uzma. Earlier, the External Affairs Minister met family members of Uzma. <br/><br/>Uzma, who is a resident of New Delhi, is believed to have met Tahir Ali in Malaysia. She was forced into marrying him in Pakistan on 3rd of this month when she was visiting that country. <br/><br/>She petitioned the court on May 12, requesting it to allow her to return home urgently as her daughter from her first marriage in India suffering from thalassaemia.

Indian national Uzma has safely returned to India from Pakistan today. Uzma has alleged that she was forced to marry a Pak national on gunpoint. <br/><br/>She thanked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad, J P Singh for her safe return. <br/><br/>Talking to media in New Delhi, Uzma narrated her story saying there are many women like her who are stuck in that area and she would like to save others from facing a similar fate. <br/><br/>She said when she reached Wagah border, she took a sigh of relief that she has returned to her country. She said Pakistan is like a well of death where no one is safe.<br/><br/>External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj thanked Uzma for believing in the Indian High Commission. She said she was relieved when Uzma crossed the border. <br/><br/>Mrs Swaraj also thanked the Interior and Foreign Ministries of Pakistan for extending all possible assistance in securing return of Uzma. Indian national Uzma, forced to marry in Pak, returns home

Indian national Uzma who accused a Pakistani man of forcing her at gunpoint to marry him, returned to India this morning. Uzma, who was allowed by the Islamabad Hight Court yesterday to return to India, came back via Wagah border. She was escorted by the officials of the Indian High Commission.<br/><br/>External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in a tweet welcomed her. Welcoming India's daughter, she expressed regret for all that she went through. Uzma's brother, who had sought the Government's help in rescuing her, praised the minister for her help. He said, she has done the impossible.
