Indian Men's and Women's Hockey teams to begin their campaigns Guwahati today

The Indian Men's and Women's Hockey teams will begin their campaigns of the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati today. The Men's team will take on Bangladesh at 8 PM, while the Women's team will meet Nepal at 3 PM.The Indian Men's and Women's Kho-Kho teams will be playing against Pakistan.India will also be seen in action in Wrestling, Weightlifting, Swimming and Cycling today. Yesterday, it had bagged all its 15 Gold medals in these four Sporting events. Our correspondent reports that of the 19 medals that India won, women athletes bagged 9 Gold and 1 Silver."As many would have guessed, India began the South Asian Games yesterday with a bang. And, leading the pack, were the Indian eves who displayed exemplary heroics by winning 9 of the 14 Gold medals. It was cyclist Bidyaluxmi Tourangbam who began the Gold deluge. Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, soon, followed by creating a new South Asian Games record in her category. This is what she had to say:Harshdeep Kaur also claimed the top honours in Weightlifting. But, it was grapplers, Archana Tomar, Priyanka Singh and Manisha who hogged the limelight. and gave India a strong start to the Games yet again. Gold medals by swimmers Shivani Kataria, Damini Gowda and the 4X100 metres Freestyle relay team underlined the fact that the day belonged to the ladies. In the medals tally, India is at the top with 14 Gold and 5 Silver. Sri Lanka is second with 4 Gold, 10 Silver and 7 Bronze. Pakistan is third with 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
