Indian markets end on flat note

Amidst highly volatile trade, the Indian markets ended on a flat note today. The benchmark index at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined by just 1 point to close at 28,442.71. The Sensex today surged to a high of 28,504.65 but was pushed back due to profit-booking. The mixed trend in global markets also weighed on the domestic stock market sentiments today. Except for some losses seen in the shares of IT and technology sectors; all other sectoral indices ended in the green. Buying interest was seen in the shares of realty, power, auto and oil and gas sectors. The National Stock Exchange however managed to end marginally in the green. The Nifty gained 13 points to close at 8,538.
