<span style="color: #222222;">The Indian Maritime University has announced registrations for admission to the programs for the next academic year. Speaking to the media in Chennai, the Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Malini Shankar said that students can register themselves till the 17th of May. <br />''<br />''The University has branches in Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, Sewri Mumbai, and Vishakapatnam and it also has 17 maritime training institutes which are currently affiliated with the University. She said that students had to appear for the Common University Engineering Test.<br />''<br />'' The University is also offering marine and non-marine programs in related fields of marine engineering. The Vice-Chancellor informed that in order to encourage more women cadets in the maritime field, a memorandum of understanding has been signed with MARTRADE which has granted scholarships to 26 girl cadets of the University. <br />''<br />''The Vice-Chancellor said that the University is raising awareness of the courses of the University in Government schools all over Tamil Nadu.</span><br />
