The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has dismissed media reports claiming that Oberthur Technologies, a French company has been short-listed for manufacture of e-passports for India. In a press statement, the Embassy categorically stated that all passports including Machine Readable Passport-MRP and e-Passports for Government of India are manufactured solely by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd at its Security Press at Nashik.
