Indian Junior Girls have claimed four gold, three silver and a bronze medal at the Valeria Demyanova Memorial International Boxing Tournament in Ukraine. 15 year old junior boxer Jhalak Tomar claimed a silver medal in the 54 kg category of the tournament on the concluding day in the Ukrainian city of Nadvirna on Saturday. Last month, Jhalak was in news as she faced problems to get her passport and her participation in the tournament became uncertain. A twitter user posted her passport application seeking assistance from the Regional Passport Office to expedite the process to give passport. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj intervened to ensured quick delivery of passport and asked Jhalak to bring back a medal for the country. The youngster did just that and External Affairs Minister congratulated Jhalak on her winning the medal.
