Indian Indices Extend Gains Despite Volatility in the Global Market

The key domestic indices extended the gaining streak for the second consecutive week ended on Friday. Hence, Indian indices ended the last week of Samvat 2079 on a positive note amid volatility due to Fed chair's comments on rate hike going ahead, ease in US treasury yields and falling crude oil prices.

In the week, the BSE Sensex added 541 points or 0.84 percent to close at 64,905. While the Nifty-50 rose 195 points or one percent to end at 19,425.

In the broader market, the BSE Mid-cap index gained 2.6 percent and the BSE Small-cap index added 2 percent.
