Hockey India on Monday has announced an 18-member Indian team that will play in the London Olympic Qualifiers to be held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi from the 18th of next month. The team for the tournament will be led by goalkeeper Bharat Chetri. The participating teams in the event are Canada, France, Italy, Poland and Singapore, besides India.Former captain Rajpal Singh got the axe and veteran midfielders Vikram Pillay and Arjun Halappa also failed to find a place in the team. Halappa, however, has been kept as standby along with Manjeet Kullu (Defender), VS Vinaya (Midfielder) andChinglensana Singh (Forward).
