In Dhaka , Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Rajeet Mitter hosited the tricolour on the occasion of independence day at India House. He later read out President Prathiba Devisingh Patil's address to the nation on the occasion of Independence day. This was followed by signing of patriotic songs. Hundreds of Indians living in Dhaka attended the Independence day celebrations at India house.
