The Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Wednesday said that it is investigating and taking preventive measures against certain unscrupulous elements trying to intrude into the online visa system.

According to High Commission officials, these agents have been trying to intrude into the online visa application system with the objective of blocking slots and apportioning them for a consideration.

The High Commission had introduced the online visa system for Bangladesh more than a year back with the High Commission of India in Dhaka and Assistant High Commissions in Chittagong & Rajshahi issuing over 0.5 million visas, ayear to Bangladeshi and other nationals residing in Bangladesh to visit India for various purposes.
