In Sri Lanka, Indian High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha on Thursday called on Speaker of Parliament Chamal Rajapaksa. he handed over a joint letter from Chairman of Rajya Sabha Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar inviting a parliamentary delegation from Sri Lanka to visit India. A statement by the Indian High Commission said that the Sri Lankan Speaker accepted the invitation. It has been agreed that the visit will be scheduled at an early date.
