Indian Grandmaster Humpy crashes out of women's world chess championships

Indian Grandmaster Koneru Humpy has crashed out of the women's world chess championships. In the quarter-final at Sochi, Russia, she lost the rapid tiebreak by scoring just half-a-point against the One and a Half points recorded by Mariya Muzychuk of Ukraine. Mariya Muzychuk thus advanced to the semi-final to set up a clash with India's D Harika, who had made it to the semis at the expense of Meri Arabidze of Georgia.The other semi-final will be played between veteran Pia Cramling of Sweden and Natalija Pogonina of Russia. In their quarter-finals, while Pia Cramling defeated Mariya's sister Anna Muzychuk in the second set of tiebreak games, Natalija Pogonina ousted the last remaining Chinese -Zhao Xue in the rapid games.
