Indian eves thrash Australia 5-0 in Uber Cup

Indian eves made a remarkable start to their campaign at the Uber Cup badminton tournament by thrashing Australia 5-Nil at Kunshan in China .The Indian eves, who had created history by clinching the bronze medal in the last edition at New Delhi, won all the three singles and both the doubles to grab maximum points.World No. 8 Saina Nehwal started the proceedings for India beating World No. 74 Hsuan-Yu Wendy Chen. Two-time bronze medallist at World Championship, P V Sindhu then brushed aside Joy Lai to make it 2-0. Celebrated women's doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa dished out a clinical performance to get across Hsuan-Yu Wendy and Gronya Somerville.South Asian Games gold-medallist, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde then hammered Tiffany Ho in the third singles, while Sikki Reddy N and Sindhu dismantled Leanne Choo and Joy Lai to complete the 5-nil drubbing of Australia. India will take on Germany tomorrow in their next Group D match.
