Indian Engineers can practice skills in signatory countries of Washington Accord

India has become a permanent member of the Washington Accord.

It is an international agreement for accrediting engineering degree
programmes of the signatory countries. These countries are Australia,
Canada, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, India, Ireland, Japan,
Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri
Lanka, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States of America.

Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani gave this information in
the Lok Sabha today. In a written answer she said the Accord entitles
equal rights to engineering personnel to practice their skills in the
signatory countries.
