<span style="color: #222222;">All India Council for Technical Education Chairman(AICTE) Prof Anil &nbsp;Sahasrabuddhe has said, Indian educational institutions have produced one of the largest numbers of quality research papers with the most citations globally. Addressing the National Conference on Indian Higher Education organized by the Education Promotion Society of India in Chennai today, he said, it comes as a silver lining, though none of the Indian Universities have figured in the Time magazine's global list of top 300 educational institutions.<br />'' <br />'' The AICTE Chairman said, the parameters being followed by the Time magazine for the ranking of institutions like the number of foreign faculties and foreign students are not favourable for India. He expressed hope that the Institutes of Eminence, as announced by the Human Resources Development Ministry recently, will help improve the situation in the days to come.<br />''<br />''Prof. Sahasrabuddhe informed the gathering that the Centre would very soon allocate about 50-thousand crore rupees for the National Research Foundation to promote quality research in India with innovative ideas. He called upon the industry also to involve themselves in such research activities. He urged the universities to upgrade their syllabi continuously on an annual basis.</span><br />''<br />''<br />
