President Pranab Mukherjee has exuding confidence that Indian economy will bounce back to 8 per cent growth levels as it has ability to halt deceleration.Inaugurating the 20th International Engineering and Technology Fair in New Delhi on Friday, he said the underlying growth impetus remains strong due to continued rise in per capita income, expanding middle-class consumers and a young and energetic workforce.The President said, stronger efforts from all stake holders collectively could build on this trend to secure a faster growth as the global economy revives. Stating that the thrust on infrastructure development and industrial production provided further filip to engineering sector, Mukherjee said this sector could facilitate faster economic development.Calling for private investments in key sectors like power and transportation, he said the investments would create opportunities for business operating in the engineering sector. He urged the Indian industry to focus on reducing carbon footprint and devising green technology for sustainable development.
