Top Indian diplomat and UN peacekeeping official Atul Khare has been included in a UN task force, set up to develop strategy aimed at preventing and responding to sexual exploitation and abuse by UN peacekeepers. Khare is currently Under Secretary-General, Department of Field Support.<br/><br/>According to the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services, 69 allegations were recorded against peacekeepers in 2015, but no Indian personnel was accused of any wrongdoing. Seventy-nine cases of allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation were reported until October, 2016.
