Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Mr Vyalar Ravi has said that the Indian Diaspora is playing a significant role in various countries and making its presence felt in the world. He was addressing a group of 24 Diaspora youth participants from seven countries under the 17th Know India Programme, KIP, who called upon the Minister in New Delhi on Monday evening. Mr Ravi said that the country is proud of the Diaspora youth, who are placed in prominent positions across the globe.The KIP is organized for Diaspora youth, in the age group of 18-26 years, by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs with a view of promoting awareness on the different facets of life in India and the progress made by the country in various fields. The Minister said that the programme provides a unique forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to visit India, share their views and bond closely with today’s India.
