Indian delegation in Nigeria to attend I-Day celebrations

An Indian delegation, led by Corporate and Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, arrived at the Nigerian capital to attend the oil-rich nation's 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations today.Khurshid arrived in Abuja on Friday to represent India in today's celebrations that will be attended by delegates of several other nations, including a representative of the British crown from which Nigeria got independence on October 1, 1960. India, which supported Nigeria in its fight for independence, was among the firsts to open its diplomatic mission in Lagos, the former capital city, in 1958.
