The Indian Cultural Week got under way in Qatar’s capital Doha today as part of the ‘Doha, Capital of Arab Culture 2010’. Addressing a press conference the minister at Indian embassy Sanjiv Kohli said on Sunday that the week, which will run until tomorrow, would feature performances by Rajasthani folk dancers, qawwali singers and Kathak artistes. The qawwali team is led by Nizami Brothers, who belong to the Sikandara Gharana, while Kathak dance will be presented by a seven-member group led by renowned dancer and choreographer Rekha Mehra. It will also include screening of feature films Khakee, Lakshya and Refugee.
