Several Indian companies in South Africa have pledged support to efforts for reviving the Tolstoy Farm, which once was a thriving commune run by Mahatma Gandhi.<br/> <br/>About 30 km away from Johannesburg, Tolstoy Farm was a self-sufficient community, but fell into disuse and is lying derelict for many years, with just the foundation of Gandhiji's original house still remaining.<br/> <br/>Visits by Indian leaders resulted in substantial donations, which led to the first phase of a Garden of Remembrance being officially launched last year.
