The Indian community in Dhaka celebrated the 69th Independence day today with traditional patriotism and fevour. The function was organised by the Indian High Commission in the New Chancery, and was attended by over five hundred enthusiastic expatriates. <br/><br/>Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran unfurled the national flag and read out the message of the President of India. In his brief address to the gathering, he said each one of us should re-dedicate ourselves to the ideals of the freedom struggle , and exhorted the youth to be inspired by the values of the freedom fighters. <br/>Children of the Indian community put up a colourful programme of song, dance and drama showcasing India's cultural diversity and the valour of the freedom fighters.
