Commanding officer DIG Anwar Khan said this in his welcome address at an on board reception on the ICGS Samudra Pehredar in Dubai on Sunday.<br />''<br />''The indigenously built Indian Coast Guard ship (ICGS) Samudra Paheredar is on a three-day scheduled visit to UAE with the aim to enhance interactions and cooperation between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the UAE Maritime Agencies and for conduct of combined exercises/ interaction so as to consolidate the professional and working relationship with UAE and its respective agencies.<br />''<br />''The reception was attended by senior Navy and Coast Guard officials of the UAE government, other defence officials, diplomats and the Indian Community.<br />''<br />''Ambassador Pavan Kapoor also addressed the distinguished gathering and spoke of close defence ties between India and the UAE.<br />''<br />''ICGS Samudra Paheredar, commissioned in 2010, is the second pollution-control vessel in the Indian Coast Guard's fleet.<br />''It is equipped with state-of-the-art pollution response and control equipment, including containment equipment such as Hi sprint booms and river booms, recovery devices such as skimmers and side-sweeping arms, and storage devices such as oil recovery operation tanks and inflatable barges.<br />''<br />''The ship will be undertaking various maritime related joint training manoeuvres with UAE Maritime Agencies during the the visit which will include Marine Pollution Response, Maritime Search & Rescue and Maritime Law enforcement.<br />''<br />''Earlier, the ship visited Muscat, Doha and Riyadh before docking at the UAE during its tour of the gulf countries. It will sail back to Porbander on 4th of this month. </span><br />
