Indian Coast Guard repatriates six fishermen

Indian Coast Guard has repatriated six fishermen from Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Srilanka to Karaikkal. They were caught in the Cyclone Vardah while fishing mid sea on 12th December and drifted towards Srilanka. <br/><br/>A release form the Coast Guard says a search mission was launched and an alert was issued immediately. Srilankan Navy located them near Mullaiteevu on the 5th of this month and the boat was towed to the shore safely. They were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard yesterday off the International Maritime Boundary. <br/><br/>The Coast Guard took them along with their boat in their vessel and reached Karaikkal port last night. The Port Blair fisheries authorities have deputed two officials to facilitate their journey back to Port Blair.
