The maritime security of the country got a significant boost with the induction of first-in-the-class 105M offshore patrol vessel ICGS Samarth, built in Goa Shipyard Ltd, into Indian Coast Guard. The largest and most advanced new generation offshore patrol vessel was dedicated to the nation Wednesday by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar at a ceremony at Vasco Da Gama.<br/><br/>The induction of 'Samarth' will help meet the increasing requirements of Indian Coast Guard for undertaking policing and patrolling of the vast Indian exclusive economic zone. The ship has state of the art engine and machinery controls for ease of operation and advanced electronic systems.
